Mid Modern Restoration:  Our clients, full-time California residents and one a Bloomington native, purchased this single-owner time capsule to renovate as their summer home.  Having already engaged a local builder, the owners turned to HAUS to help on the design-side to help collaborate on the right touches that restore yet modernize the original.

The original Bloomington, Indiana home designed by Jasper Ward  and completed in 1960 had many features that the team was able to maintain and enhance.  The team kept and restored existing stone, redwood siding inside-out, windows, planters, railings, and exposed beams.  New enhancements to spaces included a completely new kitchen, new bathrooms, new flooring, and new lighting throughout.  Unique design features include island-dining integration, hidden/operable panel wall to conceal laundry and powder room, and built-in bench in living space.

HAUS worked with client on initial design concepts inside-out + budget-scoping.  Once initial scopes-of-work and details were decided, Owner turned to sister for final interior finish selections and furnishings, and builder collaborated with Owner on site design enhancements.
